The Direct Cost Estimate method allows designers, Design-Build firms, and Prefabricators with a greater degree of control over the cost to set the base price for the Modules and Templates they have contributed to Montage Studio.
The National Average cost estimation method uses the latest data provided by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to determine a cost per square foot base price for Modules and Templates.
The Direct Estimated Construction Cost is the estimated cost to build your Montage Studio design, calculated using the base price for construction provided by the designer, and the estimated cost of your selected upgrades. The total estimate is determined by:
Total Est. Const Cost = Cost of your Design (total square feet x Authors cost to build) + Cost of Material Upgrades + Cost of Module Upgrades
The Authors cost to build is determined and set by the designer, architect, contractor, or Prefabricator.
The National Average Estimated Construction Cost is the estimated cost to build your Montage Studio design, calculated using the national average for new home construction, and the estimated cost of your selected upgrades. The total estimate is determined by:
Total Est. Const Cost = Cost of your Design (total square feet x national avg. cost to build) + Cost of Material Upgrades + Cost of Module Upgrades
The current calculation for the national average cost to build is based on an estimated construction cost of $216 / SF, using the latest report, Cost of Constructing a Home-2024, by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). Learn more.
The Home Savings are derived from the cost of your Montage Design and the estimated cost of comparable Architectural Design Services. Home Savings is an estimate of how much money you have saved by ordering a Montage Studio Blueprint Package as opposed to bespoke Architectural Design Services. Home savings is determined by:
